About Asbury Shorts New York: Founded in 1981, Asbury Shorts was first organized on Long Island, NY to expose local area college films to the general public. In 1987, Asbury moved to Haft Auditorium on the campus of The Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan for a nine year run. The format and entertainment focus changed drastically and the staff began to pursue major international award winning independent films. The Asbury Short Film Concert has since been presented at: The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, The Lake Shore Theatre in Chicago, Summer Stage in Central Park, The Director’s Guild Theatre in Manhattan, The AERO Theatre in Santa Monica, Royal Festival Hall in England and the Leminske Theater in Berlin, Germany, to name a few of the prestigious venues where audiences have enjoyed these amazing films…and, of course, The Vero Beach Museum of Art.
